The Kabiller Prize

In 2015, with a generous donation from entrepreneur David Kabiller, the Kabiller Prize in Nanoscience and Nanomedicine and the Kabiller Young Investigator Award in Nanoscience and Nanomedicine were established.

The $250,000 Kabiller Prize in Nanoscience and Nanomedicine recognizes individuals who have made a significant, career-long impact in the field of nanotechnology applied to medicine and biology. It is the world’s largest monetary award for outstanding achievement in the field.

The $10,000 Kabiller Young Investigator Award recognizes individuals who have made breaking discoveries within the last few years in the same area that have the potential to make a lasting impact.

Nominations

Nominations for the 2021 Kabiller Prize in Nanoscience and Nanomedicine and Kabiller Young Investigator Award are now closed. Recipients will be announced this fall, prior to the IIN Symposium.

Nominations are reviewed, and winners chosen by, a selection committee made up of renowned, independent global experts in nanotechnology and its application in the fields of medicine and biology. Both awards are presented biennially.

About David Kabiller

David Kabiller, a Northwestern trustee and alumnus, is co-founder and head of business development at AQR Capital Management, an investment firm with $185B in assets under management. David is a member of Northwestern University’s Board of Trustees and Chairman of the IIN Executive Council. He has been a guest lecturer at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management and Harvard Business School.

Recognizing the potential of nanoscience to revolutionize medicine, David Kabiller founded the Kabiller Prize in Nanoscience and Nanomedicine and the Kabiller Young Investigator Award in 2015.
