Northwestern is widely acknowledged as having the foremost nanotechnology research institute of any university in the world. IIN researchers have realized groundbreaking scientific and technological advances, but nanotechnology as a field is still in its infancy.

To take the next step forward, Northwestern needs the help of visionary donors.
As a donor, your support could take a variety of forms, including:
- Support at any level for research and educational programs
- Sponsoring the annual IIN Symposium or the All Scouts Nano Day
- Supporting outstanding faculty through an endowed academic chair
- Creating named fellowships for students or postdoctoral associates
In addition, you could elect to support an individual research center. The center would carry your name and provide support for faculty, technicians, students and funding to purchase the materials, supplies, and instrumentation needed to make substantive advances in your particular area of interest over the next 10 years. For example, you could endow a research center on topics like nanomedicine, vaccinology, environmental nanotechnology, nano-enabled energy solutions, molecular electronics, or nanotechnology for security and defense.
